Kozeepet: British Pet Comfort, Crafted Through Generations
From a Bridlington tailoring table to trusted Vetfleece, luxury dog beds, raised dog beds, harnesses, leads, collars and premium dog accessories, Kozeepet is built on family craftsmanship, practical design and comfort that lasts.
British Tailoring to British Woolen Dog Bedding's
Kozeepet is more than a pet product brand. It is the latest chapter in a family business story that began with craftsmanship, care and a deep understanding of textiles.
The Ward family’s journey started in traditional tailoring, where quality materials, precise cutting and made-to-measure service were part of everyday work. That same hands-on approach still shapes Kozeepet today. Whether we are developing Vetfleece, washable dog bedding, luxury dog beds, raised dog beds, puppy bedding, dog leads, collars or harnesses, our goal is simple: create pet products that are comfortable, reliable and made to last.
Kozeepet was created to bring our textile experience directly to dog owners, breeders, pet professionals and families who want products that do the job properly. From non-slip vet bed for dogs to heavy duty dog walking accessories, every product is designed with real use in mind.
We understand that a dog bed is not just a dog bed. It may be for a puppy’s first crate, an older dog’s tired joints, a working dog after a long day, a wet dog after swimming, or a family pet who deserves a warm, soft place to rest. That is why comfort, quality and practicality remain at the heart of everything we do.

Three Generations of Craftsmanship, With the Fourth Generation Already Part of the Story
Kozeepet is proudly a family-run business with Richard and Sophia Ward, continuing a business legacy that stretches back through three generations.
The first generation began with Bessie Ward and Leslie Ward, a master tailor, inventor and craftsman. While Leslie’s background in made-to-measure menswear shaped the family’s understanding of fabric, fit, comfort and quality, Bessie played an equally important role, looking after the administration and helping with sewing wherever needed. Together, they believed products should be practical, well made and useful in everyday life.
The second generation, Cheryl Ward and Peter Ward, helped grow the company with vision, business knowledge and a customer-led approach to product development. While Peter led the expansion of the product range, premises and manufacturing capability, Cheryl played a vital role in managing business credit control and bringing valuable insight from her years as a veterinary nurse.
Today, the third generation is led by Sophia Ward and Richard Ward. Sophia leads the company’s global expansion, overseeing import and export with the benefit of her years of experience, while Richard brings product development, engineering, manufacturing expertise and modern ecommerce knowledge into the business. Together, their focus is on designing practical pet products that combine comfort, durability and value.
The fourth generation, Olivia and Jessica Ward, are already part of the journey as young product testers and packers. Their involvement is a reminder that Kozeepet is not a faceless pet brand. It is a real family business, built by people who care about the products they make and the customers they serve.

Comfort, Mobility and Daily Living Support You Can Trust
Kozee Komforts provides practical, comfort-focused mobility and daily living products designed to support independence, dignity and everyday ease.
A family business created from a simple act of care
Kozeepet is part of a wider family business story that includes Kozee Komforts and Vetfleece.
Kozee Komforts grew from the original comfort product designed by Leslie Ward for his mother, who needed warmth and protection while using a wheelchair on the Bridlington promenade. What began as a single practical idea became a specialist comfort product business serving elderly and disabled customers.
Vetfleece later developed from the family’s long experience with medical grade fleece and pressure-relieving materials. The same type of textile knowledge used in healthcare comfort products naturally crossed over into veterinary bedding, puppy bedding, dog crate bedding and washable dog bedding.
Kozeepet became the broader home for the family’s pet product range. It brings together trusted names and product lines including Vetfleece, AK-9, Jenny Wren, Mutt & Bailey, Duratoy, Gnarlawood and Green Rocks.
Helping people feel more comfortable every day
Whether at home, outdoors, in a wheelchair, using a scooter or managing daily routines, Kozee Komforts products are created to provide practical support where it matters most.
Practical products that make daily routines easier to manage.
The story behind VetFleece high-pile polyester fleece
From loose polyester fibre to a soft, washable fleece pad, every stage is built around a deep pile face, a stable jersey foundation and accurate cut sizes for everyday animal care.
Polyester fibres are opened, blended and carded into an even fibre stream. The fibre is fed into circular sliver-knitting machines and locked into a jersey backing. The raised fleece is brushed and sheared to create an even pile height. A backing compound stabilises the fabric before precision cutting. CNC cutting converts the roll into consistent pad sizes.
How it is made
Five production stages, one finished VetFleece pad
High-pile fleece is not simply a flat fabric with fluff added later. The pile is built into the fabric structure: fibres are carded, fed to the knitting needles and held by the jersey base, then finished so the face is soft, even and practical.
Step 01 / Carding
Polyester fibre is opened, aligned and prepared
Loose polyester staple fibre is delivered to the machine in cans. The carding units open the fibre, comb it into a controlled web and feed it forward as a consistent sliver.
- Helps create a uniform fleece face.
- Controls fibre flow before knitting.
- Blending at this stage supports a consistent handle and appearance.
Step 02 / Sliver knitting
The fibres are knitted into a jersey foundation
In sliver knitting, the prepared fibre is carried to the knitting needles while a ground yarn forms the jersey backing. The pile fibres become densely packed tufts held by the stitches of the base fabric.
- Creates the deep, plush pile surface.
- The jersey base gives the fleece its flexible textile structure.
- Multiple feeds around the circular knitting machine build the fabric continuously.
Step 03 / Pile formation
A high pile face grows from the jersey fleece
As the fabric comes off the machine, the polyester pile stands proud of the backing. This is where the soft, wool-like VetFleece character is formed before finishing.
- The pile is visible as a dense layer of polyester fibre.
- The base fabric remains behind the pile to support strength and handling.
- Close process control helps reduce thin patches and uneven density.
Step 04 / Shearing
The fleece is brushed and sheared to pile height
The knitted fleece is presented to finishing equipment that evens the surface. Shearing trims the pile to a controlled height so the finished fleece has a uniform look, feel and performance across the roll.
- Removes uneven fibre tips.
- Creates a more consistent pile height.
- Improves the finished appearance before backing and cutting.
Step 05 / Back coating and CNC cutting
The roll is stabilised, then cut into pad sizes
A backing compound is applied to the reverse side to help stabilise the structure and reduce fibre movement. The finished roll then moves to the CNC cutter, where pad shapes and sizes are cut accurately and repeatably.
- Back coating supports dimensional stability.
- CNC cutting helps keep size ranges consistent.
- Finished pads can then be packed for vets, breeders, groomers and pet owners.
